Wendy and Todd Hartley, founders of Breast Cancer Answers, discuss Wendy’s recent diagnosis with breast cancer. Wendy had a normal mammogram 9 months ago, but has dense breast tissue that makes tumors difficult to differentiate. She felt a lump 6 weeks ago and decided to go in to have it checked. Days later, her biopsy came back and she was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ. “I heard all I needed to hear,” said Todd. “It was cancer and we don’t know how bad you have it or what stage it is, but we know you have cancer and you need to see a breast surgeon right away.”
Wendy will be sharing her story through video blogs, in hopes that she can provide comfort and information to other women who are going through breast cancer.
